STUDENT PRODUCTIONS

I understand that my child may participate in student-produced films, documentaries, news reports, interviews, animated projects, photography exhibitions, promotional videos, commercials, and the Black in 828 community storytelling initiative. These projects are educational in nature and are designed to help students build confidence while developing a professional portfolio.

Fictional Film Project Notice – Who Done It? The 828 Mystery

As part of the My P.E. Kids Film & Media Academy curriculum, students will participate in a fun, age-appropriate fictional mystery film project titled Who Done It?

During this educational filmmaking exercise, students will portray original characters in a scripted mystery. As part of their assigned roles, participants may be photographed for fictional "mugshots," interviewed in a mock interrogation room, questioned as witnesses, and portrayed as suspects in a fictional crime investigation. These activities are designed solely for educational and entertainment purposes to teach students the fundamentals of acting, screenwriting, directing, journalism, cinematography, and film production.

No student will be portrayed as having committed an actual crime, and all characters, storylines, and events are entirely fictional. The project is intended to encourage creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and confidence while providing students with hands-on experience in creating a short film.

I understand the educational purpose of this project and give permission for my child to participate in the Who Done It?production.

Please Note: Students may choose to portray their character as serious, humorous, innocent, suspicious, or mysterious. These performances are part of the storytelling process and do not reflect the student's actual personality or character.

Participation & Code of Conduct

I understand that the academy operates like a real production team. Students depend on one another to complete projects, making regular attendance and timely homework submissions important to the success of the class. I agree to encourage my child to complete assignments, practice scripts, and communicate with instructors if an absence becomes necessary.

I understand that students are expected to demonstrate respect toward instructors, volunteers, guest speakers, business partners, and fellow participants. Students are expected to use academy equipment responsibly, follow safety instructions, contribute positively to group projects, and represent My P.E. Kids with professionalism during academy activities and community events.

Failure to meet these expectations may result in disciplinary action or dismissal from the program if necessary to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
